Christmas Projection Lights

Christmas Projection Lights

We all want to make the holidays special for our family, friends, and neighbors with a beautiful outdoor display of lights. It seems the competition to top every year over the last will never cease, but for some people that is part of the fun of the season. When looking for a new way to add some extra sparkle to your season, Christmas projection lights are the next logical step. Here are a few things you need to know about incorporating these festive Christmas projection lights into your holiday display.

1. You can use them as the main decoration element

What makes this type of lighting solution so unique is that it can completely replace your standard lights. When you use utilize projectors strategically placed on your lawn, you can create a sparkling light display without the usual hassle for hanging string lights. It is worth noting that when using this as your main source of Christmas display, you will usually require more than one to cover the entirety of your house since the scope isn’t that large. The good news is that the more units you add, the more festive your season will be!

2. They can also be used with other lighting solutions

Just because they can be used alone doesn’t mean you have to forgo your beloved string lights if you don’t want to. These projector displays allow you to do a range of functions and will still work well with other types of lighting such as string lights. When combining the two types of Christmas lights together, make sure you pay attention to competing areas of light to avoid an overly bright area. For instance, if you are stringing a lot of strand lights around the front door area, maybe position your projector so it brings light and focus to the side of the house for an all-over glow.

3. Be aware of extension cords

One of the biggest concerns with Christmas projector lights is the matter of the cords. Since many of the projectors will require cords run from an outlet and will run into the yard, you need to make sure you eliminate trip hazards as much as possible when using this option. A good way to do that is to place the cords to the side of the house along the house itself if possible. Another way is to make sure they are taped down, depending on where you place your light.

4. Watch where the spread of light falls

Nothing is worse than trying to sleep and having your neighbors Christmas display shining through your windows. To keep the neighbors happy, make sure you check where the light spread will fall when you place your projector. If the scope of light falls outside your property lines, reposition until you find the right placement.
