LED Lighting for Indoor and Outdoor Pickleball Courts

Outdoor pickleball courts are typically lit from poles set alongside the court and aimed across the playing surface rather than down the line of play, which keeps fixtures out of players' sightlines during serves and lobs. Multi-court complexes usually share poles between adjacent courts, which cuts both hardware count and trenching cost. Indoor clubs and converted warehouse space run on high bays at whatever height the existing structure allows, with beam distribution selected to suit that ceiling.

Because pickleball is played close to the net and the ball travels flat and fast, glare control and even coverage matter more than raw brightness. Aim for consistent light across the full 44 by 20 foot court plus the surrounding out-of-bounds run-off, rather than a bright center with dim corners.

Converting a Tennis Court to Pickleball?

A single tennis court footprint will generally accommodate up to four pickleball courts, but the existing pole positions were placed for a 78 by 36 foot singles-and-doubles layout and rarely line up usefully with the new court grid.
