Curved LED linear fixtures do something straight runs cannot: they draw a line the eye follows. On an open ceiling a curve reads as deliberate design rather than infrastructure, and in a space with no architectural features to work with, the lighting becomes the feature. These fixtures suit offices, studios, lobbies, healthcare and education spaces where the ceiling is visible and worth looking at.

Why Choose Curved LED Linear Lighting?
A curved fixture covers the same ground as a straight one while giving a space a focal point. Most are direct/indirect, so they light the work surface below and bounce light off the ceiling at the same time, which softens the room and reduces glare. Specification is the same as any other suspended linear: wattage and CCT selectable at install, 120-277V, 0-10V dimming.
- A design element that also works. A curve carries real output, so you are not trading performance for appearance.
- Direct/indirect output. Light down for task areas and up to soften the ceiling plane, in one fixture.
- Selectable wattage and CCT. Set brightness and color temperature at install, so one part number suits several spaces.
- Suits exposed ceilings. Where ductwork and structure are visible, a curved run gives the ceiling a deliberate shape. Black housings recede into a dark plane so only the lit edge shows; white reads as contrast.
Choosing Between Curved Shapes
Three shapes, and they solve different problems.
- S-Curve. A continuous sinuous run across an open area. The highest output in the range at 11,760 lumens max, 2" wide, direct/indirect, suspended. Best where you have ceiling length to work with and want one fixture to carry the room.
- Half Circle. A 36" semicircular pendant, 5,880 lumens max, 2" wide, direct/indirect. Suits a defined zone — a reception desk, a seating group, a single table — where a full circle would be too much and a straight run too plain. See the full LED half circle lights range.
- Quarter Circle. Available two ways. The 8 ft suspended version at 8,400 lumens max pairs with straight runs to turn a corner or close a loop. The SCXC surface-mount versions, 1,100 to 2,750 lumens at 10W, 20W and 25W, mount directly to the ceiling where there is no room to suspend.
Mixing shapes and straight runs. Most of these are 2" wide direct/indirect, so they sit naturally alongside straight LED linear fixtures in the same series. Keep finish and color temperature consistent across the whole installation.
Where Curved Fixtures Suit
Curved linear works wherever the ceiling is visible and worth treating as part of the design:
- Open-plan offices and studios with exposed structure
- Reception and lobby areas that need a focal point
- Conference rooms, where direct/indirect output matters for comfort
- Healthcare and education spaces where a softer ceiling plane helps
- Retail and hospitality where the ceiling is part of the design

Curved LED Linear Lighting FAQs
What is curved LED linear lighting?
Curved LED linear fixtures are suspended or surface-mounted lights built in a curve rather than a straight line. They include S-curve, half circle and quarter circle shapes, and are used where the ceiling is visible and the lighting is intended to be part of the design. Most carry the same specification as straight linear fixtures: selectable wattage and CCT, 120-277V, and 0-10V dimming.
What is the difference between quarter circle, half circle and S-curve fixtures?
A quarter circle is a 90-degree arc, used to turn a corner or close a loop alongside straight runs. A half circle is a 180-degree semicircle, which works as a standalone feature over a desk, table or seating group. An S-curve is a continuous sinuous run, suited to open areas with enough ceiling length to carry it. Output rises with size: quarter circle to 8,400 lumens, half circle to 5,880, S-curve to 11,760.
Can curved fixtures be linked with straight linear runs?
Yes, where the fixtures share a series and profile width. Most of these are 2 inches wide with direct/indirect output, which means they sit naturally alongside straight linear fixtures in the same family. Confirm linking and connector options on the specific product, and keep finish and color temperature consistent across the run.
Are curved LED fixtures suspended or surface mounted?
Both are available. The S-curve, half circle and 8 ft quarter circle are suspended, hung on adjustable cable with a canopy and power feed. The SCXC quarter circle fixtures are surface mount, fixing directly to the ceiling where there is no room to suspend or where a flush profile is preferred.
What does direct/indirect mean on a curved fixture?
A direct/indirect fixture emits light both downward and upward. The downward component lights the floor and work surfaces; the upward component bounces off the ceiling, which softens the room and reduces the contrast between a bright fixture and a dark ceiling. On an exposed or dark ceiling the indirect component matters less, so check whether an uplight portion is worth specifying for your installation.
What spaces suit curved linear lighting?
Spaces where the ceiling is visible and the lighting is intended to be noticed: open-plan offices and studios with exposed structure, reception and lobby areas, conference rooms, healthcare and education interiors, and retail or hospitality build-outs. In a room with no architectural detail to work with, a curved run gives the ceiling a shape it would not otherwise have.
