Frequently Asked Questions: 2FT LED Compact Linear High Bay Fixture, 23,100 Lumen Max

Both deliver high-output industrial illumination, but they distribute light differently, and the right choice depends on your ceiling configuration and application. The Oslo Compact Linear High Bay emits light through a 90° beam angle, which projects a tighter, more focused column downward. This makes it well-suited for spaces where you need concentrated illumination directly below each fixture; manufacturing lines, machine areas, and inspection zones where precise task lighting matters. A UFO high bay uses a wider beam angle, making it better for open floor areas where broad, even coverage is the priority. The compact linear form factor (24" long × 11.8" wide) also makes it easier to fit into tighter bays, mezzanine areas, or low-clearance industrial spaces where a wider UFO puck wouldn't work as cleanly.

The WL-CLHB-165W-2CTS-WH-G2 has three selectable wattage settings, all at a consistent 140 LM/W efficacy: 130W (18,200 lm), 150W (21,000 lm), and 165W (23,100 lm). The 130W setting is a practical choice for ceiling heights in the 18–22 foot range or spaces where task demands are moderate. The 150W setting covers standard warehouse and factory environments in the 22–28 foot range. The full 165W output is the right call for ceilings at 28 feet and above, or high-demand environments such as manufacturing floors, automotive service bays, or gyms where maximum foot-candles are needed. Because efficiency stays flat at 140 LM/W across all three settings, there's no efficiency trade-off for stepping down when full output isn't needed.

The fixture ships standard with a 3' chain kit, the most common mounting method for industrial high bay applications, where a short pendant drop positions the fixture at the right distance from the ceiling without hardware complexity. For installations requiring more drop distance, a 5' or 10' aircraft cable kit is available at checkout (+$8 and +$12, respectively), which is a cleaner, more modern alternative to chains, commonly specified in retail, gym, and architectural-industrial projects. A surface mount kit (+$30) is available for direct ceiling attachment where pendant mounting isn't suitable, and a pendant mount kit (+$30) supports rigid conduit or stem pendant installations. All mounting options are available as add-ons at the time of purchase.

The WL-CLHB-165W-2CTS-WH-G2 is designed for industrial and commercial environments where cool, high-contrast light optimizes visibility and task performance: 4000K (neutral white) and 5000K (cool daylight) are the two CCT options. For most warehouses, factories, and gyms, 4000K is the standard go-to: bright and neutral without the stark quality of 5000K. The 5000K setting is preferred for quality control areas, automotive inspection bays, and facilities where staff need maximum visual acuity. If your project requires warmer color temperatures (3000K or 3500K), for instance, a retail floor or mixed-use space, we carry other high bay options in the WareLight line that include warmer CCT selections.

At 140 LM/W, the Oslo G2 delivers far more light per watt than the technologies it commonly replaces. A typical 6-lamp T5HO fixture produces 80–90 LM/W at best, while a 400W metal halide high bay typically achieves 70–90 LM/W and depreciates rapidly over its lifespan. Running at 165W, this fixture produces 23,100 lumens; to match that output with a 400W metal halide, you'd consume more than twice the wattage. Across a facility with dozens of fixtures running 10–16 hours a day, that difference compounds quickly into meaningful annual utility savings. The Oslo G2's 50,000-hour rated lifespan also means far fewer lamp changes and maintenance cycles compared to both T5HO fluorescent and HID sources.
